Our Aberdeen Lads Club name was quite literally up in lights - or perhaps that should be up ON lights - at The JEllie Foundation’s Comedy Lunch, which was held at The Chester Hotel earlier this month.

Forming part of the Foundation’s Signature Food Festival, the Comedy Lunch featured English writer and comedian, Russell Kane, along with five-piece group, The London Essentials, and Aberdeen musician, Gareth Thomson.

All funds raised from the event will be distributed to various good causes in the North-east of Scotland, with the Foundation’s Signature events already having raised more than £1 million for charity since its inception in 2017.

We were fortunate enough to be the beneficiary of a £1,000 donation from last year’s campaign.

Aberdeen Lads Club manager, Angie Johnston, said: “The JEllie Foundation raises such a significant amount of money each year through it’s Signature Food Festival, and we were incredibly grateful to have received our donation last year.

“We are always looking to grow and develop the services that we offer and it’s thanks to organisations like The JEllie Foundation that we are able to do that.

“We would like to thank Gillian and Graham Wood, and the team at The Chester Hotel for their kindness and support.”
